Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Every time one of our blokes gets fouled your eyes look quickly to the ref who has no hesitation in waving play on. There are so many example but last night and the Grady Diangana one are ones that spring to mind

Yet Man City have had 1?

Yeah well they have normally scored a goal before anyone can get near them to foul....

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Because we rarely get in the oppositions penalty area....

"I do believe there is bias, but teams that possess the ball in the opponent's box are more likely to get penalties, right? So the better clubs are awarded more penalties as a result."

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Pretty sure I saw somewhere we were basically mid-table in terms of being awarded them, over the last 5 years.

Not sure what that translates to in terms of average number.

They have very fast wingers who run directly at fullbacks at pace?

The refs awarding them??

Palace are above the average, and we all know who that's down to, don't we.

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Well I imagine it's because absolutely everyone hates us... you know refs, lino's, the FA, commentators, match of the Day, Gary Neville, Michael Owen, Lawro, the Queen, page 3 girl Samantha Fox, Harold Shand from the Long Good Friday... Oh and Basil Brush.... that's probably the reason why we never get penalties...

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
I've never thought we got any less than about the average to be honest?

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Once upon a time, they gave penalties even when players successfully tried to stay on their feet, despite being fouled.

Probably be called a soft penalty nowadays

For the same reason that we’re always on last on MOTD

Alan wrote...

"I'm also amazed that we don't concede penalties more often when the idiot Ogbonna plays.
His wrestling in the area is just stupid. "

You got THAT right! The man's a penalty waiting to happen. All it needs is some sort of video review system to be introduced, and his career will be over.
Either that, or he'll change his ways.

Oh, and thanks Alan.

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
One day these decisions will even themselves out and we'll win the league at a canter with an average of three pens per game awarded to us.

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Again, according to the figures we were awarded more penalties than man u, Liverpool and Tottenham last season.

Still, don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant...

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Brand PL needs (NEEDS) one of the top 4 (Liverpool, 2 Mancs & Chelsea) to win the league EVERY year to keep up the sales in Asia.

That will have been made clear, if not directly & explicitly, to the referees, by whoever pays their wages.

They were caught sleeping by Leicester - won't ever happen again.

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Sorry but if the one on Arnie had been given last night it would have been really soft. The defender was breathing right down his neck but there was actually very little contact.

Is it because we is... you know?

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Sven agree and more to the point why don't Salah, Rose the other week, Alli, Murray last year against us kicking our defender's leg and going down etc get pulled up for it and awarded a retrospective ban, so only Lanzini & Diasse have gone down easily in the last 18 months

Total load of bollocks
